Keeping VigilKids running on Xiaomi phones

Phone Settings
Setting names may vary depending on your device model and operating system version. Not all devices will have every setting listed below; simply enable whichever options are available on your child’s device.
Battery & Performance Settings
Go to Settings > Battery & Performance > Battery/Power Saving/Settings
Select "Performance" mode.
Automated tasks: Disable all options.
Scheduled power on/off: Disable.
Power saving mode: Disable.
Ultra power saving mode: Disable.
Disconnect data when device is locked: Never.
Clear memory when device is locked: Never.
Notifications for excessive power consumption: Disable.
Power-saving suggestions and battery drain alerts: Disable.
Scenario configurations: Disable all scenarios (including Sleep mode).
Smart app power saving: Locate "VigilKids" and select "No restrictions."
App Settings
Go to Phone Settings > App Settings > App Management > Find "VigilKids" (or long-press the VigilKids icon) > App Info
Auto-launch: Enable
Notification Management: Disable "Allow Notifications"
Permission Management: Disable "Persistent Notification"
Display on Lock Screen: Enable
Battery Saver/Power Saving Policy: Set to "Unrestricted"
Permission Management: Ensure "Persistent Notification" remains disabled
Allow Restricted Settings: Enable
Network and Data Usage Restrictions
Search for "Data usage" (or "Traffic") in your system settings and navigate to "Unrestricted data usage." Ensure that VigilKids is set to have unrestricted data access.
Check WLAN (Wi-Fi) settings:
Settings > WLAN > Advanced settings > WLAN Assistant: Enabled.
Network access control: Enable both "WLAN" and "Mobile data" options.
Monthly data usage: Enable the options for "Mobile data," "WLAN," and "Allow network access while running in the background."
Accessibility Settings
Search for "Accessibility" in your system settings and navigate to the "Accessibility menu." Ensure that the "Accessibility menu" shortcut is disabled.
Important Notes

If "optimization" features are enabled on your child's device, the system may alter relevant settings. Please follow the instructions provided to reconfigure them.

If the "Turn on MIUI optimization" option is enabled on your child's device, please disable it (Settings > Additional Settings > Developer Options > Turn on MIUI optimization).

Whether the VigilKids background process is terminated depends primarily on the device's operating system, not on the VigilKids developers. Therefore, the settings mentioned above can only help reduce the frequency with which the VigilKids background process is terminated; they cannot completely prevent it from being shut down. In certain situations—such as when the device battery is very low, too many apps are running in the background, or the device/operating system is outdated—the process may still be terminated frequently.

Additionally, issues such as the device being powered off, the VigilKids app being uninstalled, or a lack of network connectivity will also prevent the app from functioning. Please check for these conditions first.
