Privacy Policy

1. Scope and company

This Privacy Policy applies to the VigilTime Android application and related public support pages. VigilTime is provided by Shenzhen Weizhixingchen Technology Co., Ltd. (“VigilTime,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Data processed locally

Depending on the features enabled, VigilTime may locally process:

• Screen-time totals and daily or weekly usage summaries.
• App usage duration, app launch counts, last-used time, and usage periods.
• Installed-app identity needed to display usage reports and configure limits.
• Focus-session duration, pause state, completion result, and focus calendar records.
• App-limit rules, weekday schedules, and restriction-password settings.

This information remains on the device and is not transmitted to VigilTime.

3. Android permissions and special access

Usage Access

VigilTime uses Android Usage Access to calculate screen time, app usage duration, app launch counts, last-used time, and usage periods. This information is processed locally.

Display over other apps

VigilTime may request Display over other apps access to show a restriction screen above a limited app when a user-configured limit is reached. This access is not used for advertising and does not read the underlying app’s content.

Device Administrator

If the user enables the lock-screen feature, VigilTime may request Device Administrator access solely to lock the screen when the user actively taps the lock-screen control.

Foreground service and background reliability

VigilTime may run a foreground service to maintain an active focus timer or user-configured app-limit behavior while the app is not visible or the screen is locked. Timing and rule state remain local.

4. External browser links

VigilTime does not include the Android INTERNET permission. VigilTime does not directly send app data, feedback, or logs. When a user opens a privacy, terms, or support link, VigilTime only launches the device’s external web browser. Any later network request is handled by the external browser, not directly by VigilTime.

5. How local data is used

• Display screen-time and app-usage reports.
• Apply app limits selected by the user or an authorized parent or guardian.
• Run focus sessions and maintain focus records.
• Protect app-limit settings with a local restriction password.

6. Data sharing and sale

VigilTime does not collect, upload, sell, rent, or share core screen-time, app-usage, focus-session, app-limit, or restriction-password data. This core usage data is processed locally and is not transmitted off the device by VigilTime.

7. Storage, retention, and deletion

Local data remains on the device until the user clears VigilTime storage or uninstalls the app. VigilTime does not maintain a cloud account or remote copy of this local data.

8. Children and family use

VigilTime is designed to help a parent, guardian, or device user guide healthier screen habits. A parent or guardian should configure permissions and limits where required by law. VigilTime does not provide remote monitoring, location tracking, message monitoring, or cloud surveillance.

9. Security

VigilTime uses reasonable local safeguards appropriate to the data, including secure local storage for restriction-password settings. No system can guarantee absolute security.

10. User control

Users can revoke Usage Access, Display over other apps, Device Administrator, or background-related settings at any time in Android settings. Revoking access may disable the corresponding feature.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when the app or applicable law changes. The current version will be posted at this URL.
