new spy app brand i keep seeing, phonsee. hadn't heard of it before this month. looks basically identical to the mspy/eyezy ilk. before i waste my money on yet another subscription does anyone have real experience
Phonsee — anyone actually tried this one
ok so i've done the spy app tour. phonsee, mspy, eyezy, umobix, spyphone, flexispy — i've tried all of them over the course of a bad year.
phonsee is newer but it's the exact same backend architecture as several others. UI is fine. features are fine. it's in the middle of the pack.
they all have the same fundamental limitations: 1. need physical access to install on target phone 2. on iphone you basically need the icloud credentials 3. if the phone updates its OS, app might break for weeks 4. customer service is universally a chatbot that doesn't help
they're all roughly the same. pick the cheapest one this month or just don't bother
OP: kinda what i figured. thanks for the reality check
the entire "spy app" industry is affiliate marketing with software attached. the software barely works and the websites exist to farm anxious people for recurring subscriptions
what are you actually trying to accomplish? there might be a non-spy-app solution. "i want to monitor my kid" has legit tools (bark, google family link, apple screen time). "i want to catch my spouse" is a situation where spy apps don't really give you what you think they will, and can make legal stuff worse
OP: honestly it's the spouse situation. appreciate the honesty. i know this isn't really the answer
i'm sorry. been there. the evidence you get from these apps is inadmissible in most states anyway because of wiretap laws. if you're worried about the relationship, a real therapist or a divorce consultation is actually useful money
also a lot of these apps are straight up illegal to use on adults without their knowledge/consent depending on your state. check that before you install anything. last thing you need is a felony on top of a cheating partner
seconded. i almost got myself in real legal trouble during a bad stretch. wish i'd just gone to therapy
